About this event
Build Your Own Fly Rod!
GSF is very excited to again offer a fly rod building class taught by Eric Noguchi. Eric is a very accomplished rod builder and excellent teacher. Eric has held rod building classes in the past for GSF and the feedback has always been very positive.
The class is suitable for first time rod builders and those with some experience. The focus will be on building a functional rod that you can use to actually catch fish. You will have a high quality rod to fish with after 5 sessions. The plan is to hold the class during the weeks of January 12th - January 31st, likely two classes per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Classes will start at 6:45PM and last 2 hours +/-.
The location is currently TBD.
If any prospective student has a garage, club house, etc. that we could use for the class, please contact Mark Utter at 858-539-9415 or markdutter@outlook.com.
There will be three options that you can choose to build in the class that you will select as part of the registration process:
1. 9 foot, 5 weight
2. 9 foot, 8 weight
3. 9 foot, 10 weight
The cost for the class is $275, which will be due at the time of registration. The cost includes your rod blank, all components, finishing materials, as well as all tools necessary to build your rod. The blank, components, and materials are all high quality. The class will be limited to 6-10 students. If interested, register right away!
