GSF 2023 INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED tying class
MONDAY Nights – February 6, 20, 27, March 13
Classes will be held IN PERSON
Location: Quantum Brewing, 5375 Kearny Villa Rd, San Diego
Registration $30 total for all 4 classes
This class will move along at a somewhat accelerated rate. Therefore, all tyers considering this class should have some familiarity with general tying skills (whip finishing/half hitching, pinch wrap, use of dubbing, etc.), and have their own vise, tools, and materials.
Class is limited to the first 8 people who sign up via the website. Registration will open Sunday, January 15.
To register: Log into the Golden State Flycaster's website and click on the Event Calendar. Find the first class on February 6th and click on it. This will take you to the "register now" button. We have had some issues with people attempting to register with their iphone, so we suggest registering with a computer.
Your cost for this course will be $30.00/person (payable at the time of registration via the web site).
We will not be supplying materials for this class. We will provide a pattern list with recipes/needed materials prior to the first class.
We will be tying 2 flies each night. We will cover a range of materials, techniques, and fly styles. Flies we will tie in this class and recipes will be sent to you prior to the first class.
Time permitting, Mark will take a request at the end of each class to tie a pattern you want to learn, are having trouble with, or requires a technique you are interested in.
Note that he will be encouraging you to do "homework", as it will immediately improve your tying skills.
