2021 INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED FLY TYING CLASS
MONDAY Nights - March 8, 22, 29, April 5 Time 6 PM to 8 PM.
(All Classes will be virtual Zoom Meetings.)
$30 total for all 4 classes
This class will move along at a somewhat accelerated rate. Therefore, all tyers considering this class should have some familiarity with general tying skills (whip finishing/half hitching, pinch wrap, use of dubbing, etc.), and have their own vise, tools, and materials. Class is limited to the first 10 people who sign up via the website. Registration will open February 15th.
To register: Log into the Golden State Flycaster's website and click on the Event Calendar. Find the first class on March 8th and click on it. This will take you to the "register now" button.
Your cost for this course will be $30.00/person (payable at the time of registration via the web site).
We will not be supplying materials for this class. We will provide a pattern list with recipes/needed materials prior to the first class.
We will be tying 2 flies each night. We will cover a range of materials, techniques, and fly styles. Flies for this class will include:
- Shop Vac
- Perdigon
- Emergent Sparkle Pupa
- Soft Hackle Emerger
- Improved Sparkle Dun
- Rusty Spinner
- Slump Buster
- Moto Minnow/Half Pint
Time permitting, I will take a request at the end of each class to tie a pattern you want to learn, are having trouble with, or requires a technique you are interested in.
Note that I will be encouraging you to do "homework", as it will immediately improve your tying skills.
